Camille Ortiz

Internationally recognized for compelling performances of baroque and concert repertoire, native Puerto Rican soprano Camille Ortiz is quickly establishing herself as a leading operatic artist.  Recent appearances include Micaëla in Magic City Opera's Carmen; soloist with the Naples Philharmonic (Link-Up Series); Norina in Don Pasquale with Gulfshore Opera; soprano soloist for the "Mozart Magnified" series with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale; and Poppea in Handel's Agrippina with Ars Lyrica Houston.  The upcoming 2019-2020 season sees her debut as Marie in the Daughter of the Regiment with Opera Orlando.

Other highlights include appearances as soprano soloist with the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina (Florence, Rutter conducting, Requiem) and as soprano soloist for the International Festival of the Aegean (Greece).  Past engagements include appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Dallas Bach Society, and the Orchestra of New Spain.  BBC Music Magazine named her the “stand-out” of the award-winning recording of Rameau’s Le Temple de la Gloire with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale.    

Ms. Ortiz is a faculty member at Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida Southwestern State College, and Ave Maria University in Southwest Florida.  She earned degrees from University of North Texas (D.M.A.), Manhattan School of Music (M.M.), and Oral Roberts University (B.M.). camilleortizsoprano.com
